Parman Energy works to help various businesses all around the southeast work more efficiently by saving them on fuel and energy costs. Part of their mission also includes supporting their local Tennessee community. Earlier this month Parman Energy announced they will be working with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and Chattanooga Area Food Bank in their mission to help feed and distribute food to struggling families.

“There are a lot of families in our community who work just as hard as the rest of us but still find it difficult to feed their loved ones,” stated Lisa Kimbrough, Parman Energy’s Director of Marketing. “We make it a priority to seek out organizations around Tennessee who are doing good work and provide whatever support we can. Second Harvest Food Bank has been doing great things for people in need in our community and we are proud to help them along in their cause.”

All during 2013 Parman Energy will provide Second Harvest with aid through employee volunteer days and food drives. Volunteer days will take place at the Second Harvest food sorting facility. They plan on lending assistance during food drives meant to support other various causes Second Harvest initiatives such as their Summer Doesn’t Take a Vacation campaign.

The energy company will also be providing funding and volunteer support to five different mobile pantries located in the areas of Nashville, Camden and Chattanooga. These pantries distribute food and non-food items on tractor-trailers in high-need areas. In addition to support from Parman Energy employees, the fuel and lubrication experts will also be loaning Second Harvest fuel tanks.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and the Chattanooga Area Food Bank are organizations committed to battling hunger in the Middle Tennessee region. Along with Second Harvest’s network of more than 200 food banks and distribution centers they are working to put food on the tables of families in need. Both food bank organizations offer various opportunities to support their shared mission through volunteer work and donations.
