Supports upcoming Symantec Enterprise Vault Content Provider Extensions Framework

EV Extensions are like Plugins or “Apps” for Enterprise Vault

Globanet is pleased to announce support for the upcoming Symantec Enterprise Vault Content Provider Extensions Framework for its Merge1 and Migrate products. Globanet has quickly identified Enterprise Vault Extensions as a technology that offers Merge1 and Migrate customers seamless and efficient integration with Enterprise Vault, significantly boosting the value of ingested content from other sources.

Both Globanet Merge1 and Migrate now have the ability to output into dedicated archive types, offering both products the ability to create and push data into dedicated Bloomberg, Reuters, LinkedIn, Facebook, Autonomy EAS and EMC EmailXtender archives within Enterprise Vault. Both Merge1 and Migrate create custom archive types using the new Content Provider Extensions framework, allowing clean and specialized separation of stored and indexed data.

Providing direct integration into the EV Vault Administration Console (VAC) via the Extensions framework allows Merge1 and Migrate to gain the maximum benefits of integrated VAC scheduling, Extension Control and seamless configuration. Merge1 and Migrate output can now be controlled seamlessly from the VAC if an organization wishes, controlling access to each Globanet Extension at a user or group level, and providing the ability to view activity and status of each Globanet Extension from a single location.

For Globanet Migrate Migrations, it’s now possible to have an archive for every legacy user ingested in a migration, grouped together into a special archive type in the VAC. Globanet’s use of the Enterprise Vault Content Provider Extensions also allows seamless reporting – giving users the ability to quickly and easily report on each users ingested data type, volume and counts. That might mean a report on Bloomberg message counts and storage usage on a per-archive basis, for example – or the number of Autonomy EAS messages kept in isolated archives for each user.

Globanet Enterprise Vault Extensions are provided as part of existing product licenses, and will be available for use shortly after the full release of EV Extensions for Enterprise Vault 10.
