People don’t watch video or film because of the technology used to edit it. They watch because these videos have compelling characters involved in interesting stories.

After many requests from video editors, visual storytellers, and filmmakers, Larry Jordan announced a live Editing Master Class to be held May 14, 2013, in the Los Angeles area. Whether an editor uses Final Cut, Premiere, or Avid, this class will help editors improve their story-telling.

“Far too often,” said Larry Jordan, president of Larry Jordan & Associates, Inc., “we focus on technology. But people don’t watch video or film because of the technology used to edit it. They watch because these videos have compelling characters involved in interesting stories. This Master Class is designed to help you improve the craft of editing and story-telling, whether you are working on documentaries, commercials, trailers, television, or independent films.”

The idea of this Editing Master Class is to provide ideas to improve editing and story-telling. By reviewing on-going editing projects as part of the class, Jordan will be able to provide participants with feedback on what’s working and what isn’t. Participants will bring their media and their projects, and show Jordan what they’ve got. He will give recommendations and ideas on how to make it better. This class is not a lecture, but a group discussion looking at improving the craft of editing. The class is limited to 14 participants.

“So often we hear from Larry’s community that they get stuck for ideas and need tools for getting unstuck,” said Laura Peters, director of marketing for Larry Jordan & Associates, Inc. “With this intimate class of only 14 students, Larry knows he can give attendees better ways to tell their stories with video, improve workflow, and save time.”
