Dor Lin, director of Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, visits Shema Kolainu- Hear Our Voices to discuss updates on the future site of ICare4Autism Global Autism Center in Jerusalem, Israel.

On Wednesday morning, director Dor Lin of Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, Israel, sat down with Dr. Joshua Weinstein, Gili Rechany-Education Director, Suri Gruen-Program Director, and Steve Solender-Former Executive Vice President of UJA-Federation, to discuss the acquisition of the Mt. Scopus Campus, the future site of ICare4Autism Global Autism Center.

Dr. Weinstein, Founder & CEO of the International Center for Autism Research and Education (ICare4Autism) discussed the next steps in acquiring the Mt. Scopus site with Dor Lin. The Campus will be the Autism Global Center made up of four key components: ICare4Autism Research Institute - Global Research Center, ICare4Autism Academy for Advanced Autism Studies, ICare4Autism Model School and ICare4Autism Foundation.

“We have a go,” said Dor Lin, as he announced the approval from Hebrew university allowing ICare4Autism to purchase the Mt. Scopus site. Mr. Lin presented the Universities approval documents to Dr. Weinstein, who was thrilled to have it finally move forward.

Mr. Lin was given a tour of the Shema Kolainu – Hear Our Voices School and Center for children with Autism and other disabilities, and was informed on the various educational methods used in the center. He was able to observe the lessons through the double sided observation rooms without interruption to the students inside.

He also visited the Snoezelen Room, a controlled multisensory room, with different sounds, colors, and lighting effects that is state-of-the-art for children with autism and also visited the Daily Living Skills Center which contains a mini supermarket, laundry center, kitchen, bedroom and gym.

Dor Lin was very upbeat about moving along the process because Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design will be moving its new site to downtown Jerusalem opposite the city hall. He offered his services to Dr. Weinstein and ICare4Autism, and the two are looking forward to further collaborations.
