A historic gathering of hackers, information security professionals, hacktivists, and musicians will be arriving at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront Hotel this weekend (5/17-5/19) for the HackMiami 2013 Hackers Conference in Miami Beach, FL.

The HackMiami Conference will provide a forum for the most skilled hackers within the white hat digital underground to showcase cutting edge hacking tools, techniques, and methodologies. A limited number of tickets for the conference and training seminars are available at HackMiami.com.

In addition to conference activities, HackMiami will be co-sponsoring the "Surviving Miami," concert taking place at the famous Tobacco Road bar on Saturday evening (5/18).


HackMiami will feature Dave Marcus, the Chief Architect of Advanced Research and Threat Intelligence at McAfee Federal Advanced Programs Group, as keynote speaker for the HackMiami 2013 Conference. Marcus will discuss advancing trends in malware development, and where he foresees these trends heading into the future.

In addition to the keynote presentation, the conference features an assortment of talks and seminars that go over all topics related to the digital underground. Security professionals and hackers from around the world will reveal their latest research covering the topics of mobile phone exploitation, VoIP attacks, network penetration testing, web application vulnerability analysis, wireless hacking techniques, social engineering methods, and more.

On Saturday evening (5/18/2013), conference attendees are invited to the historic Tobacco Road bar and music venue for “Surviving Miami,” a showcase of underground musical talent from around South Florida. The concert is co-sponsored by HackMiami.

The show will feature a live performance from famed nerdcore rapper and ex-black hat hacker YTCracker, as well as performances from local rock bands such as The Deadly Blank, Space Between Words, and The Super Fuzz.

In addition to the live event, an mp3 compilation of music from the South Florida bands participating in the “Surviving Miami” concert will be made available for download.

Tobacco Road is the oldest bar in Miami, having been established in 1912. The bar has run continuously to the present day, even surviving the Prohibition era.
