Many people don't realize the dangers that can accompany simple tasks such as trying to unclog a drain
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) May 31, 2013
"The key to disaster prevention is education," says David Parker, owner of ER Plumbing Services of Charlotte, NC. "That's why we've decided to film a series of How-To videos and plumbing disaster prevention videos, all of which will be provided to the public on our website."
The video series will tackle questions such as the following:
- How to drain and flush your water heater
- How to install water cops to prevent flooding
- How to move a water heater from your attic
- How to detect a leak in your pipes
- How to fix a running toilet
The videos will be filmed on location during plumbing jobs that take place all over the Charlotte metro area. Each video will be instructional in nature and will provide step-by-step directions and practical advice on how to perform each task safely. The videos will rate how difficult a job is and will include safety precaution warnings and suggestions for when an expert plumber should get involved.
"Many people don't realize the dangers that can accompany simple tasks such as trying to unclog a drain," Parker says. "For example, people pour a caustic chemical such a Drano down a drain, and then they attempt to use a plunger to loosen the blockage. The result is a dangerous eruption of chemicals that can splash into your eyes, causing blindness."
The videos are currently being filmed and will be posted on the site as they are finished. People interested in seeing the videos as they are posted can read more at the ER Plumbing Services blog.
