Open to participants from around the country, The Company Corporation's Business Plan Contest encourages young entrepreneurs to grow their ideas into start-up and early-stage businesses.
Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) June 03, 2013
The Company Corporation®, the leader in helping small businesses incorporate and form limited liability companies, is pleased to congratulate Pearl Somboonsong, winner of its first-ever Business Plan Contest.
Open to participants from around the country, the Business Plan Contest encourages young entrepreneurs to grow their ideas into start-up and early-stage businesses. Somboonsong, 21, of Radnor, Pennsylvania, brought home the $1,000 prize for her winning business plan executive summary, which described a business called InPlace, an “aging in place” solution that would enable seniors to stay at home, in a familiar residential setting, by using their home equity to pay for affordable home health care services. The Company Corporation’s panel of judges was impressed by the thoughtfulness and commercial potential of Somboonsong’s plan.
Currently a student at Cornell University, Somboonsong served an internship last summer with Brookdale Senior Living, in Pennsylvania, which informed the details of her proposal. The hands-on experience “cultivated my interest in the senior living industry and gave me key insights while developing the InPlace business plan,” she says.
In 2010, Somboonsong founded Focus, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating educational opportunities for students in underdeveloped regions of northern Thailand. The enterprise drew praise from U.S. News & World Report and to date remains “the most meaningful achievement I have had the privilege of leading,” Somboonsong says.
The Company Corporation is now taking entries for its next quarterly Business Plan Contest. Deadline to enter is June 30, 2013. To learn more and to review the contest rules, be sure to visit http://www.incorporate.com/business_plan_contest.html.
