Cigna and IPA Family (IPA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Independence Corp., a NASDQ listed corporation and a member of The IHC Group, announced today they have forged a new business relationship which will allow IPA Family advisors the opportunity to offer Cigna individual and family health insurance plans to IPA customers.

This relationship will expand IPA’s major medical health insurance product offerings, particularly in new markets like the state of California. “We found Cigna to be the perfect partner to expand our business in markets where we have not had products available in the past, said Dave Keeler, President and Chief Operating Officer of IPA Family. It is exciting to be part of something that will not only expand our business and serve Americans well, but provide our IPA advisors a best-in-class quality product line.”

Cigna, one of the largest health service companies in the United States market, also operates internationally in 30 countries and has more than 78 million customer relationships worldwide.
“At Cigna, we’re very excited to partner with IPA. With this new collaboration, IPA will solely offer Cigna's Individual and Family Plan major medical products in eight primary medical insurance markets over the next several months. With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act potentially bringing increased numbers of people into the individual insurance market, we expect this new sales relationship with IPA to help Cigna significantly grow our customer base in the states where they will be offering our plans,” explains Dale Fratianne, Sales Director with Cigna Individual and Family Plans.
