Redpark Product Development today announced it has joined the ServiceMax Marketplace to facilitate the use of iPhones and iPads for field service applications. In many field service applications there is a need to connect to equipment using a serial or Ethernet interface. Redpark cables provide a simple and reliable way to make these connections.
“iPhones and iPads are rapidly being adopted for field service applications,” explained Mike Ridenhour, Redpark’s president. “Our cables enable iPhones and iPads to connect to equipment that is installed in the field.”
“As organizations increasingly turn to technology to deliver flawless field service and empower their employees to turn customers into raving fans, it couldn’t be a better time to aggregate the most promising solutions in a single marketplace,” said Dave Yarnold, CEO of ServiceMax. “The 34 partners in the ServiceMax Marketplace are able to address the unique, needs of field service organizations, helping them to deliver better service to their customers and keep our world running.”
Redpark currently offers several serial cables for iPhone and iPad. An Ethernet cable is now in production and will be shipping shortly. These cables allows field technicians to connect iPhone and iPad to devices such as routers, cable TV set top boxes, fire alarm panels, elevator controllers, and other commercial and industrial equipment that is installed in the field. This allows the field service technician to use an iPhone or iPad when configuring or troubleshooting equipment in the field.
