CityPals Launches a New App To Connect Travelers And Locals All Over The World

CityPals announces the launch of its new smart phone application, extending the functionality of the entire CityPals site.

CityPals offers the global traveling community a chance to connect with locals either as a guide or tourist, and to gain experiences and insights on a personal level. It differs from other local travel companies in its grass roots approach. The CityPals platform provides an easy to use tool for people to meet in a way that’s fresh and flexible.

This new app introduces Near Me functionality which allows users to find CityPals and Featured Tours based on their phone’s location, in real time. For travelers on the move, this is a great feature. And the built in messaging technology now allows for even faster communication with other CityPals and travelers.

The app mirrors website functions including:

  • Building and editing CityPal profiles
  • Searching for CityPals and tours in cities across the globe
  • Booking and managing tours
  • Creating and editing Featured Tours

The app was developed based on feedback from users. It can be used to book tours that range from a couple hours to a full week. Tours can be booked in advance or on the fly. Tour agenda and duration are agreed upon by the guide and traveler, making each CityPal experience unique.

Amotz Brandes, CityPal Co-Founder says he is delighted with the rapid growth of this startup but not surprised at its success. “Literally everyone who hears about CityPals thinks it’s an amazing idea. The impetus came from personal experience. I’ve logged thousands of travel miles and often wished I could connect with locals either to alleviate the boredom of a business trip or to see sites off the beaten track.
