The book follows the entire Bolt family including Leland, a fourth-year college drop-out who completed a correspondence course in accounting, and his wife Fern, whom he married after her high school graduation. In the book, Bolt describes his family members' lives, including key events they witnessed and lived through. The book also covers the building of a new business Leland built when he was terminated from his job at 62 years old with no retirement. Bolt highlights his capability to bring out all aspect of important issues and patiently work plans that had overwhelming support.

About the Author
Captain Leland Emet (Lee) Bolt was born in Payette, Idaho and grew up in nearby Emmett. He graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1951. After serving, he later joined the Engineering department at General Dynamics. In 1975 he earned his master's degree from the University of Southern California. Bolt wrote portions of many new business proposals and technical reports in a variety of disciplines. His memberships included Associate Fellow in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), in which he held several San Diego Section positions, including Section Chairman.
