Community Involvement + New Buildings, Hires and Tenants Highlight Half-Year Mark for Longfellow Real Estate Partners
BOSTON (PRWEB) July 09, 2018 -- Though just halfway through, 2018 has already proven to be a banner year for Longfellow Real Estate Partners. With headquarters in Boston and Durham, Longfellow is a real estate development firm that serves the unique demands of science and technology companies in the country’s most innovative cluster locations. Highlights of the year so far include:
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Longfellow’s commitment to participating in and enhancing the communities in which they work has so far this year included everything from cause-driven fun runs to facilitating important public dialogues.
In Boston, for example, Managing Partner Jamie Peschel has helped to conceive and execute a series of community forums as co-chair of the Urban Land Institute’s Boston Market Council. The most recent was “The Hard Thing about Hard Things,” a discussion of how to balance the priorities of investors, municipalities and community members. Peschel and a Longfellow colleague also joined the 2018 Best Buddies Hyannis Port Challenge, a 100 mile bike challenge that raises funds for the nonprofit Best Buddies International.
In North Carolina’s Research Triangle region, Longfellow has supported Duke TIP, a program that identifies and helps students, grades four through twelve, who want to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math. Among other initiatives, the team actively supports the work of booster group Downtown Durham Inc. and raised more than $14,000 for the Get Your Rear in Gear fun run to benefit colon cancer research.
NEW BUILDS: Two new buildings are near completion at Durham.ID (aka the Durham Innovation District). Known as 200 and 300 Morris, each is seven stories high and together total nearly 350,000 square feet of cutting-edge office space.
They are the first new builds at the award-winning Durham.ID, a 15-acre urban research hub and live-work-play campus that connects dynamic neighborhoods on the west side of the Bull City’s thriving downtown. Renderings are available here. Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI), the largest academic research organization in the world, will occupy all of 200 Morris.
NEW CLIENTS: Longfellow recently welcomed new tenants in both Boston and the Research Triangle, including pioneering companies such as Renesas, KBI and Homology. They were attracted to a Longfellow property in part because of the company’s proven flexibility, keen understanding of clients’ needs and commitment to developing 21st century work spaces promoting creativity and collaboration.
NEW HIRES: Longfellow added 18 new team members earlier this year to support its fast-growing Class-A office holdings. Longfellow’s portfolio include 827,928 sq ft of Class-A office and lab space in greater Boston and 1,821,728 sq ft in Durham and Research Triangle Park.
“This is what we strive to do everyday: Perform robustly on multiple levels,” says Managing Partner Peschel. “Our community engagement work has been particularly gratifying. Thriving communities that work for everyone make for the kind of cities that companies want to be part of and where talented people want to put down roots.”
