Craft Breweries Across the Country to Support Troops and Veterans with Homefront IPA
Annual Hops for Heroes program donates 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Homefront IPA to Soldiers' Angels
SAN ANTONIO, May 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Craft breweries across the country are in the final stages of creating a special beer that supports military service members, military families, wounded heroes, and veterans of all eras. Homefront IPA is brewed every year between Memorial Day and Independence Day through the Soldiers' Angels Hops for Heroes program. Participating breweries utilize donated hops from Hops Direct and donated grains from Cargill to create this unique and refreshing IPA recipe. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the beer are donated to Soldiers' Angels to assist in the organization's vision of ensuring that No Soldier Goes Unloved.
This year marks the 9th annual brewing of Homefront IPA and Soldiers' Angels is proud to announce seven participating breweries:

"We are so grateful for the support of the craft beer community through the Hops for Heroes program," said Amy Palmer, President & CEO of Soldiers' Angels. "This is a fantastic way for communities to give back to the men and women who have given so much for our country while enjoying a brew and supporting local craft breweries in their communities."
Hops for Heroes was started in 2011 by retired MLB pitcher, Chris Ray, and his brother Phil Ray, to honor and support the men and women of America's Armed Forces. The brothers now own Center of the Universe Brewing in Ashland, Virginia and participate in Hops for Heroes each year over Memorial Day weekend. To carry on the legacy of baseball from Chris, Homefront IPA is brewed on genuine maple baseball bats created especially for Hops for Heroes by Veteran Bat Company. Many of the bats used in the production of the beer are auctioned off at the Homefront IPA release parties and the proceeds of the auctioned items also come back to Soldiers' Angels.
"Homefront IPA is our way of saying "thank you" to all of the men and women who dedicate themselves to protecting our safety and our way of life. By releasing this beer so close to Memorial Day or Independence Day, we hope to give a reminder to everyone of how important the past, present, and future members of our armed forces are and to remember the ultimate sacrifices so many have made in their pursuit of our freedom." – Chris Ray, Co-founder of Center of the Universe Brewing Company and Hops for Heroes
Hops for Heroes has raised more than $203,000 for Soldiers' Angels in the past three years. Soldiers' Angels provides aid and comfort to deployed service members, wounded heroes, military families, and veterans of all eras through a variety of unique programs and services. The funds raised from Hops for Heroes go straight to the Soldiers' Angels programs that provide support to the military community.
