Gecko Hospitality's 4th Annual "Turkeys for Tots" Supports Families Across Southwest Florida
FORT MYERS, Fla., Nov. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Gecko Hospitality, one of North America's premiere recruiting firms that connects top talent and companies within the hospitality and restaurant industries, announced the kickoff of its annual "Turkeys for Tots" fundraising drive.
"It's important that we give back to the community," said Robert Krzak, President, Gecko Hospitality. "We do this because we know there are many children who go hungry all too often across Southwest Florida."
More than 70 percent of children attending schools in southwest Florida's Lee County are eligible for free or reduced lunch. In some areas, that number grows to as high as 98 percent. For many, school is the only place where they have access to food.
"We're matching dollar-for-dollar so that we can double our impact on the community" Krazk said. "Our hope is to far exceed last year!"
In 2017, Turkeys for Tots donated 275 turkeys to the Community Cooperative: Soup Kitchen, Harry Chapin Food Bank, St. Joseph's Food Pantry, Next Level Church with the Boys & Girls Club, and City Gate Ministries' Rock the Block Turkey Drive.
