Meridian Honda compares 2019 Pilot crossover SUV to top competitors in its segment
Current Honda Pilot offers a standard V-6 engine as well as towing figures that can beat many rivals as well as accommodate as many or more passengers than other in-class models.
MERIDIAN, Miss., July 30, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Meridian Honda showroom is home to just about every new crossover SUV the automaker builds. At the top of the automaker's available options in this highly-competitive class, is the 2019 Honda Pilot. The Pilot offers three rows of passenger seating, an easily configurable interior for maximum cargo-hauling and one of the most competitive towing capacities in its class. Honda engineers have taken such care in designing the 2019 Pilot, it is able to directly compete against the best in the segment. Meridian Honda customers will be able to consider six different trim grades when they are examining the 2019 Pilot, LX, EX, EX-L, EX-L Navi/RES, Touring and Elite.
For the current model year, the 2019 Honda Pilot picks up a few new exterior accents as well as standardized safety technology across the entire trim ladder. The suite of Honda Sensing® sensors, including Collision Mitigation Braking, Road Departure Mitigation, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning have been finally equipped on all available trims of the 2019 Honda Pilot
Honda doesn't produce the only three-row crossover SUV equipped with a powerful V-6 engine, but it does build one of the most capable models with a V-6 engine. Under the hood of the 2019 Pilot is a 3.5-liter, V-6 which can be attached to a six-speed or nine-speed automatic (Touring and Elite) transmission. Front-wheel-drive models of the 2019 Pilot will be able to tow 3,500 pounds. The addition of the automaker's all-wheel-drive system will boost that figure to 5,000 pounds. One of the biggest rivals of the current Pilot has a standard towing capacity of 3,000 pounds and it doesn't best the 2019 Pilot unless a buyer chooses a much higher and more expensive trim grade.
The 2019 Pilot can also offer passenger seating for up to eight passengers on most trims. Another of the Honda crossover SUV's rivals only has a peak seating capacity of just seven riders across the board.
