The 20/22 Act Society announces that its Foundation, The 20/22 Act Foundation, raised almost $1 million for Puerto Rican Charities in 2018.
DORADO BEACH, Puerto Rico, Jan. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "The commitment of the members of the Society shows the interest and dedication our members have in helping those in need in Puerto Rico, and while $1 million in commitments and donations won't change the island, it sets a leading example for the rest of the community," said Founder Robb Rill. Enid Concepcion, the Executive Director of the Society, said, "What's pleasing to see is that our efforts are making more of a difference as our members become more involved, and we will be working to do more in the future. Our goal is to provide a conduit that delivers hope to the non-profit sector of Puerto Rico."
In 2018, the Foundation supported many charities on the island including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico, Centros Sor Isolina Ferré, Centro Esperanza, Hogar La Piedad, United Way of PR, Hogar del Niñito Jesús, FUNDESCO, Hospital Pediátrico, PR Alliance for Companion Animals, and VIDAS to name a few. It also supports Kinesis, a charity that provides grants to highly competitive college students. "The support of the 20/22 Act Society provided us the opportunity to open our clubhouses as soon as possible, and provide the services the community needed to be safe and continue their development while the schools were closed," said Patricia De La Torre, Resource Development Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico.
In 2017, the 20/22 Act Foundation fulfilled its commitment to provide support to our partner charities and the people of Puerto Rico through donations of more than $1 million that were received in response to Hurricane Maria. In addition to Hurricane Maria's relief efforts in 2017, the 20/22 Act Foundation raised just under $1 million in 2018 allowing the Foundation to continue providing much needed support to our partners in 2019. "The grant we received from the Society helped us with our first response to Hurricane Maria. We are extremely thankful and grateful for the services, grants, and resources that we have received from the Society" said Dr. José Luis Díaz, CEO of Centros Sor Isolina Ferre.
About The 20/22 Act Society:
The Society is a membership-based organization founded in 2014 and built around Laws 20 and 22 of Puerto Rico to incentivize companies and high net worth individuals to relocate to Puerto Rico under the tax incentive code of 2012. The Society is the epicenter organization for those recipients, and has the purpose to educate those interested in the acts, provide members with a community to socialize and interact, donate to local causes, and have a unified voice for its recipients. The 20/22 Act Society is as diverse as it is exceptional, but all members share common values and aspirations. The 20/22 Foundation was formed to bring member's individual charitable interests together and to explore how the Foundation could provide support in an effective and efficient way.
