Visit San Jose Partners with Travel Channel and U.S. Travel Association; Encourages Americans to Take Vacation
SAN JOSE, Calif. (PRWEB) September 20, 2018 -- Visit San Jose, the city’s official destination marketing organization, is excited to announce their partnership with Travel Channel & U.S. Travel Association to participate in their 30 Days of Getaways national sweepstakes. The sweepstakes is in support of Project Time Off the U.S. Travel Association’s program to encourage Americans to take vacation.
In 2017, Americans let 705 million paid vacation days go unused. Travel benefits include quality time to bond with loved ones, foster creativity and inspiration, and recharge one’s physical and mental well-being.
By giving up their vacation days last year, Americans inadvertently sacrificed $236 billion in economic impact to the U.S. tourism industry. In California, 90 million vacation days were abandoned, resulting in a $17 billion untapped economic benefit. And in the Bay Area, 13 million vacation days were left on the table, losing out on a potential $3 billion economic contribution to the travel industry.
To inspire change and interest in travel, Travel Channel is giving away a different dream trip every day for 30 days as part of their national sweepstakes. San Jose will be the featured destination on Thursday, September 20 and Saturday, October 6. Full details of the sweepstakes giveaway here.
