Yamaha RX-S602 Slimline AV Receiver Combines Alexa Voice Control with MusicCast Surround Wireless Versatility
BUENA PARK, Calif. (PRWEB) July 17, 2018 -- Yamaha today unveiled the RX-S602 Slimline AV receiver, offering wireless surround capability and Alexa voice control in a slim, compact design.
Standing under 4.5” high, the RX-S602 tucks away in confined spaces and fits nicely in AV racks that have extreme real estate constraints. This makes it the ideal entertainment hub for small apartments, offices or recreational vehicles like motorhomes and campervans.
The RX-S602 supports a traditional 5.1-channel wired setup for powerful surround sound, while also giving you the option of going wireless with a new technology called MusicCast Surround. An enhancement of the company’s MusicCast wireless multi-room audio system, MusicCast Surround allows a user to build an AV receiver-based 5.1-channel surround sound system with wired speakers for the front channels (Front Left, Center, Front Right) and wireless speakers for the surrounds (Surround Left, Surround Right).
MusicCast Surround builds on the Yamaha MusicCast wireless multi-room audio system which enables music enthusiasts to stream their favorite tunes from almost any audio source over a Wi-Fi network to MusicCast-enabled products throughout the house.
Additionally, the slimline AV receiver features voice control via Amazon Alexa-equipped devices, such as the Echo and Echo Dot smart speakers, through the use of free MusicCast skills available on the Alexa Skills Store.
Providing complete compatibility with the latest HDMI standards, the RX-S602 delivers transmission of 4K video at 60 frames/second pass-through. It also supports HDR (high dynamic range) video including Dolby Vision and Hybrid Log-Gamma. This provides incredible contrast, smooth tone and rich, bright colors — giving you full, high-definition enjoyment with an exceptionally realistic and natural picture quality.

It supports numerous built-in streaming services, including Spotify, Pandora®, SiriusXM Internet Radio, TIDAL, Deezer, Napster and thousands of free internet radio stations, all accessible via the free MusicCast app.
Yamaha-exclusive sound technologies, such as YPAO auto-calibration and Cinema DSP, are also packed into the RX-S602. YPAO analyzes the room acoustics and your system, then precisely adjusts various audio parameters to provide the best sound for your room, while Cinema DSP 3D allows you to easily create sound fields like actual movie theaters or concert halls in your room.
The RX-S602 also comes equipped with Zone 2 audio, which sends audio to a speaker pair in another room from a source independent of the source playing in the main listening room. This makes it perfect for the RV enthusiast looking for a 3.1-channel setup in a main TV room and a 2-channel configuration in a second room or even outside.
