"Sati Tala" - a mindful dining surface that will transform the way we eat
Tel Aviv, Israel (PRWEB) August 28, 2016 -- Tany Jarus is a designer who searched for a way to connect two of her passions - design and mindfulness. She researched the connection between mindfulness and design and found that by modifying the design and changing the way people use an object, she can create a mindful experience.
In this spirit she designed Sati Tala - an eating surface that engages you to be fully present while eating. The name means “a mindfulness surface” in Pali - an ancient Buddhist language. The surface rests on the couples’ laps and physically connects them. This leads them to an experience of attention, awareness and focus on each other.
The surface is much more stable than it first seems - the pillows and the surface's own weight give it stability on one hand, and comfort on the other. When sitting down, the couple disconnects from outside distractions and can be fully focused on the experience.
Sati Tala has been endorsed by couples therapists. "It strengthens the connection between couples", "It gives them an opportunity to be fully attentive and listen to each other". Tany describes the use of it as her "special time" at home with her partner. She recommends it for people who love food, intimacy and wish to improve their well-being.
Together with her partner Sagie they want to introduce Sati Tala to the world. They believe that it can make a change and have launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to raise awareness to mindfulness eating.
