Steven Goalen, general manager, announces the opening of Former Saint Craft Kitchen and Taps, a new restaurant and bar in downtown Denver. Located in the heart of the Mile High City, on the corner of 14th and California, Former Saint Craft Kitchen and Taps’ historic location is the site where St. Mary’s Academy once stood in 1864. It is also adjacent to the Colorado Convention Center and steps to the Denver Theater District.

This innovative restaurant and bar gives a nod to the bond shared between food and spirits. Partnering with a respected community of local ranchers, farmers, distillers, vineyards and brewers, Former Saint tempts with unpretentious yet adventuresome flavors.

Former Saint Craft Kitchen and Taps features a glass-enclosed keg room, crowned with copper piping that draws Colorado craft beers to its center, focal-point bar that is highlighted by a 16-foot locally-inspired mural, saturated in color and created by renowned Denver artist Pat Milbery. The décor and the fare together make a statement that this is where Denver urban meets Colorado wild. House smoked meats, prime cuts, the freshest produce and artisanal breads are featured along with an offering of appetizers, robust burgers, curated sandwiches and masterful main courses. A welcoming open kitchen, bustling with culinary craftsmen, invites guests to imbibe in the aroma, the taste and the experience. Each plate is prepared and presented with extra thought and consideration.

“We are excited to open the doors of Former Saint Craft Kitchen and Taps to the ever growing and vibrant Denver culinary scene and community. The creation of Former Saint has been an incredible journey, working first with our design and architecture teams on what we could imagine and then bringing it to life and working further with a multitude of creative and adventuresome local partners… from coffee roasters, to farmers, brewers, distillers, artists and more," commented Former Saint General Manager Steven Goalen. “I am so proud and thankful of the team I get to work with on a daily basis… they truly have and are putting their heart and soul into what we are creating for our guests and for Denver. Former Saint is a place where you will experience our culinary team’s creative creations, our selection of some of the best local taps and spirits Colorado has to offer, where you will learn a little bit about our historical beginnings… and where you will Enjoy Life in the Spirit. I do hope you will come see us soon and follow us as our journey continues."

Former Saint serves morning, noon, night and spirits daily with private dining spaces for up to 70 people. Guests may make a reservation online by visiting Former Saint’s website at FormerSaintDenver.com or by calling (303) 486-4434.
