The Associated Builders and Contractors Rocky Mountain Chapter held this year’s Excellence in Construction Awards (EICs) on Friday, October 19th, 2018, with Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) taking home Merit Awards for both the Estes Valley Community Recreation Center project and the Natrona County High School Historic Renovations project.
“Winning these awards shows that our commitment to quality building is commended within the industry,” said Regional President, Tom Horsting. “We’re incredibly grateful for the recognition, and for the opportunity to support ABC’s efforts with our sponsorship.”
About the Estes Valley Community Recreation Center – This addition transformed a 10,900-sf aquatic center into a community recreation center. The 52,756-sf multigenerational community space includes senior services, library resources, family and youth amenities, meeting rooms and gathering spaces. The recreation space includes an indoor walking track, aquatics facilities, multi-purpose gymnasium space, group exercise/fitness areas and locker/family changing rooms.
About Natrona County High School Historic Renovations – The goal of the project was to take the historic structure and turn it into a First Class learning environment for the students of Natrona County High School (NCHS). The project consisted of three very distinct scopes of work including historic restoration, renovation and replacement. Another critical challenge was to maintain the high level of educational services to the students of NCHS. The project was also located on a confined space with minimal opportunity to provide transitional educational spaces (i.e. modular classrooms).
The 17th annual EIC ceremony was held at Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Lowry, Colorado, with AP as the Bald Eagle Sponsor for the Top Gun-themed event. Over 250 members and guests attended the event.
