Alfond Youth Center Launches Charitable Sweepstakes Featuring Rob Grownkowski Memorabilia and Boston Red Sox Prize Packages
Every dollar donated to the sweepstakes, powered by Lottery.com, will be matched by the Harold Alfond Foundation to benefit the Maine-based non-profit Alfond Youth Center / YMCA / Boys and Girls Club.
WATERVILLE, Maine, July 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Alfond Youth and Community Center (AYCC), the only co-located/co-managed Boys and Girls Club / YMCA in the country, today announced the launch of a digital charitable sweepstakes, giving donors to the organization a chance to win an array of amazing prizes while contributing to AYCC's mission. The sweepstakes, and more details about the organization and prizes, can be found at https://ayccsweepstakes.org.
The charitable sweepstakes, which is available nationwide, features prizes that include an autographed football and jersey signed by New England Patriots Super Bowl Champion tight end Rob Gronkowski, as well as premium experience prizes, including on-field batting practice at the Boston Red Sox historic Fenway Park. Other prizes include rounds of golf with former Major League Baseball players, an all expense paid Bahamas vacation package, and youth scholarships to attend a free week of baseball camp at Maine's Little Fenway Park.
Sweepstakes entries are given for every dollar donated to the Alfond Youth Center. The timing of the sweepstakes launch coincides with an annual matching program from the Harold Alfond Foundation, so every dollar donated through the sweepstakes will be matched dollar for dollar from the Harold Alfond Foundation, making each donation twice as meaningful to the organization
"Thanks to the partnership with Lottery.com, all of the proceeds will help the most disadvantaged, food-insecure youth in Central Maine by providing weekend food for their families through our backpack program. Participation in the sweepstakes will make a difference in the lives of so many of our youth members," said Ken Walsh, CEO of the Alfond Youth & Community Center.
The digital sweepstakes is being powered by lottery.com, the world's leading digital platform for the sale of lottery tickets and sweepstakes. The lottery.com app can be downloaded for free at lottery.com and allows for the purchase of official lottery tickets and participation in digital sweepstakes in approved jurisdictions.
"It's campaigns and initiatives like this that give us the drive to continue innovating and progressing at Lottery.com. Lotteries were created to benefit communities, and we've taken this a step further by using games of chance, like sweepstakes, to gamify charitable giving like never before." said Lottery.com CEO, Tony DiMatteo. "We're honored to help increase awareness and further AYCC's mission."

About Alfond Youth Center
The Waterville Boys Club was established on December 12th, 1924 and the YMCA in 1948. Both clubs served the needs of the Greater Waterville Area and in 1972 the Girls Club and Boys Club merged creating the Waterville Boys and Girls Club. When renovations were needed for both the YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club, the late Harold Alfond proposed combining the two organizations under one roof to better serve the needs of the community with a 3 to 1 match. We completed this task in May 1999, housing both organizations and their programs in one building, the Alfond Youth Center. On hand for the dedication were Senator George J. Mitchell and Secretary of State General Colin Powell. Through this collaboration the club was able to enhance the After School Program, provide a Therapy Pool and a Six Lane Lap Pool. We created a triple gymnasium, climbing wall, and offer lessons in Karate, Dance, and Gymnastics. To provide more programming in 2006 we added a second story to the AYC increasing its square footage to 72,000 and making us one of the largest clubs per square footage in the nation. We enhanced our teen center, added the New Balance Youth Fitness Center, the Harold Alfond Library, a Boardroom and Club Naha Karate Dojo.
