American Art, Fine Jewelry, English China and More to be Featured at Kaminski
Beverly, MA (PRWEB) June 10, 2014 -- The upcoming June estate sale at Kaminski Auction presents a broad selection of impressive items, from important paintings, to fine estate jewelry, a large collection of Royal Winton and Shelly chintz porcelain, and collectable dolls.
One of the stars of the auction is sure to be A. T. Hibbard’s painting “Down Stream.” A large and important work from this famed Rockport artist, the painting depicts an open stream carving its way through a snowy winter landscape. Recently, Hibbard’s work has commanded high prices, and the piece is expected to do well. Kaminski experts have valued it at between $8,000 and $12,000.
Impressive jewelry will also be featured in the upcoming auction. A four and a half carat diamond and platinum ring is sure to catch the attention of many bidders. The period ring features a delicately worked open channel design set with thirty-three single cut diamonds. A truly stunning piece, it is predicted to sell for between $40,000 and $60,000. A large collection of jewelry from the same Framingham, MA estate will accompany the ring. The selection includes fine gold, diamond, ruby, pearl and turquoise pieces.
An International Sterling tea set will also cross the auction block on the 22nd. Seven pieces comprise the impressive set, all finely decorated in the hand-chased Richelieu pattern. With a weight of approximately 393 troy ounces, the set is estimated at $10,000 to $15,000.
Of much interest is an impressive Savage Model 99 rifle, engraved by craftsman Alvin White and commissioned by Roland Hartman. The gun features an exceptional carved stock and grip with three inlaid scenes in gold with intricate figural carvings. Since the original commission, the rifle has descended within the Hartman family. It is estimated to sell for between $10,000 and $15,000.
The second portion of the June 22nd auction will present a large single owner collection of chintz porcelain and dolls from a Framingham, MA estate. The collection includes a wide variety of patterns from both Shelly and Royal Winton. Of particular interest is a Royal Winton “Old Cottage” chintz set including a rarely seen salad server fork and spoon set. The collection also offers a set of two limited edition “Julia” pattern Delamere stacking teapots, estimated at $400 to $600. The teapots are numbered 81 and 137 out of 1000.
Following the chintz items, Kaminski will auction off an equally large collection of vintage dolls. The selection includes Madame Alexander, Nancy Ann, Toni and Vogue Ginny dolls. Collectors will be particularly interested in a Madame Alexander Painted Lash guardian angel doll, valued at $700 to $1,000. Many of the dolls offered come complete with their original boxes and accessories.
Preview for the auction will be held on Thursday, June 19th, from 10:00am to 5:00pm; Friday, June 20th, from 10:00am to 5:00pm; Saturday, June 21st, from 10:00am to 5:00pm and the day of sale, Sunday, June 22, beginning at 8:00am.
