Author of numerous parenting books and founder of Active Parenting Publishers, Dr. Michael Popkin, will host a series of Google+ Hangouts that address common questions parents have about their kids. The longtime spokesperson for Lorillard Tobacco’s Real Parents Real Answers (RPRA) youth smoking prevention program, Popkin is hosting the series with the goal of educating parents about efforts that will ultimately lead to kids living healthy, tobacco-free lives.
“Making sure kids don’t smoke is not a one-size-fits-all approach,” says Dr. Popkin. “But what we do know is that the stronger the overall relationship between a parent and a child, the better chance there is that child will remain smoke-free. In these hangouts, parents can expect to learn about everything from healthy living to family activities to how stress affects kids.”
The first RPRA Google+ Hangout will be on July 10, 2014 and will focus on building self-esteem and courage in kids. Google+ Hangouts is a free video chat service from Google that enables group chats with up to 10 people at a time. The hangout can be viewed live by non-participants and will also be aired post-event on the RPRA website.
