For the first time, Atlas Copco Specialty Rental and Mainticare Ltd attended the Mediterranean Offshore Conference (MOC) in Alexandria, Egypt together in a joint effort to fulfil O&G customer demands in the Mediterranean area. Mainticare, itself part of Ablecare Oilfield Services Group and based in Malta, has an established presence in the Mediterranean oil and gas industry, its partnership agreement with Atlas Copco adding strength to its established service offering.
The new partnership was positively welcomed by delegates and participating companies, especially the "package” of solutions that the joint venture provides. In a high demanding business sector, ready access to specialist support is critical to both increasing productivity and meeting environmental and health and safety issues.
Mainticare and Atlas Copco Specialty Rental are able to deliver unrivalled oil and gas expertise by offering equipment developed to meet specific industry demands. This also includes the latest range of ZoneAir Compressors, introduced at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston earlier this month.
The all-new “ZoneAir”-compressors will now be offered as a rental option alongside other compressor models, with certification to operate within Zone II environments. The containerized portable ZoneAir XATS 1020 is ATEX certified and offers a capacity of 1020 cfm (28.9 m³/min) at 150 psi (10.3 bar). In line with all Atlas Copco compressors, the ZoneAir models are highly energy efficient with output that can be utilized in numerous applications.

The MOC event, which alternates between Ravenna, Italy and Alexandria, Egypt in May each year, is under the patronage of the Minister of Petroleum of Egypt. This year, on May 18-20, it was attended by delegates from over 20 countries and is recognised as one of the most important oil and gas fairs in the region. Aside from providing valuable links between oil and gas organisations from southern and northern shores of the Mediterranean, the event is a key opportunity to see new developments within the wider industry.
