Attention High School Seniors: Innovacyn Announces Two $4,000 Scholarships For Future Ag Leaders
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (PRWEB) October 29, 2014 -- At the National FFA Convention and Expo, Innovacyn today announced the Vetericyn’s Future Innovators of Agriculture Scholarships. The company will award two $4,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend a two- or four-year college with the goal of pursuing a career in the field of agriculture.
Applicants, who can apply online or via mail, will be asked to provide answers to five essay questions, as well as a letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor within the agriculture industry. The company is accepting applications now through January 31, 2015, and winners will be announced on March 31, 2015.
This is Innovacyn’s second year of awarding scholarships. Katelin Walker, a past scholarship winner studying agricultural education at Oregon State University, said, “Not only was this scholarship a huge financial relief, which every college student values, but it also was a reminder of why I do what I do, and why I am studying what I am, which is my love for the agricultural industry and the promise of tomorrow’s youth.”
The scholarships will be awarded in equal increments over either two or four years, depending on the type of institution chosen by the winner. “This year, we bumped up the amount of our scholarships and decided to spread them over the college career of the winners. We want to support these students throughout their academic journey,” said Dave Mills, general manager of Innovacyn, Inc.
Another past winner, Brett Wilder, said, “With the help of the Vetericyn scholarship, I have been able to attend college without the overbearing stress of debt." Wilder is majoring in agricultural economics at University of Idaho.
