Attorney Jason Waechter Offers Condolences to the Families of People Killed in a California Collision Between a Bus and a FedEx Truck

Detroit Free Press (Freep) reported on April 11 that up to ten people were killed, and dozens more injured, when the FedEx truck crossed a grass median and slammed head on into the charter bus. A Nissan Altima was also involved in the collision. The bus was carrying high school seniors and chaperones to a tour of Humboldt State University. More than 35 people were treated for injuries after the crash. Both the FedEx truck driver and the bus driver were killed in the collision, as well as three chaperones and five students, according to Freep. An investigation is underway to determine why the FedEx driver left his lane and crossed the median into oncoming traffic.
Waechter, whose firm specializes in truck accidents, wants to know why terrible accidents like these are still occurring. “With all the regulations in place, and all the high-tech gear used in these trucks, it’s hard to understand how such a serious crash could have happened,” he says. “I hope this investigation will help eliminate these types of crashes in the future. No family should ever have to face what these families are facing,” he adds.
