“Who Wants to Be a Kingdom-Heir? An Old Man’s Take on Life”: a reflection on the life experiences of one man put into the Christian context. “Who Wants to Be a Kingdom-Heir? An Old Man’s Take on Life” is the creation of published author James Pittman, a husband and father of two who formerly served the congregation of Church of God and currently resides in Moundsville, West Virginia.
James shares, “My mother died when I was five years old, and it was as if at that time, God said to me (no, not audibly), ‘Earthly friends may leave you, but I will never leave you.’ For many years, I remember thinking that I needed to be a good boy for Mom. But like almost everyone else, as I got older, I allowed the temptation to not do the right things to overcome me while all the time feeling God trying to nudge me back to his way. I could not continue in the direction I was headed. Sometimes I still wrestle with the notion ‘How can God love me?’ Then I have to put my trust in his promise to ‘remove our sins as far away from us as the east is from the west,’ and ‘though our sins be as scarlet, he will make them white as snow.’ All the experiences have led me to write. This book is the last one on my bucket list. All I have said has been an effort to bring someone to the reality and importance of becoming a kingdom heir.”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, James Pittman’s new book is a biblically inspired personal reflection on the life of a devoted Christian.
