Waiting for a train might be surprisingly enjoyable when an enormous flash opera performance is involved.
At 12:55 pm on September 15th, over 300 performers took Amtrak's 30th Street Station in Philadelphia by storm. Large timpani drums boomed as the Opera Company of Philadelphia Orchestra and Chorus performed Carl Orff's iconic "O Fortuna."

The Philadelphia Rhythmic Academy also joined in, adding an awesome ribbon dancing element to the already impressive surprise performance. This was the grand finale of the Knight Foundation's Random Act of Culture series, and the three minute performance was certainly memorable.
To capture a high definition video, and share it with a worldwide audience, the Opera Company called upon the Philadelphia based video production company, Beholder Productions, for a fourth time. The five-camera-shoot captured the massive crowd from two stationary cameras suspended above the action. A third stationary camera focused on the performance space in the center of the station, while two more cameras traveled through the excited crowd.
Beholder previously produced videos for Random Acts of Culture at the Please Touch Museum, Reading Terminal Market and Macy's in Philadelphia. The videos "'Flash Brindisi' at Reading Terminal Market" and "Hallelujah! Random Act of Culture" have garnered 3.7 million and 7.8 million YouTube views respectively.
