Energy is the root of the body and mind. By understanding and mastering energy, you can unlock the secret to changing yourself and the world

Healing Chakras: Awaken Your Body's Energy System for Complete Health, Happiness and Peace, written by South-Korean born author, brain educator, and philosopher Ilchi Lee recently won two awards from the book publishing industry. The book was named a Silver Winner in the Health/Healing/Energy Medicine category by the 2010 Nautilus Book Awards and it also received a 2010 Arizona Glyph Award for Best Interior Layout/Design from the Arizona Book Publishing Association.

Healing Chakras, published by Sedona-based BEST Life Media, is a beautifully illustrated, colorful guide to activating and balancing the human chakra system. Chakras are the seven key energy centers in the body that run along the spine. They are recognized by many Eastern healing traditions as being integral to one's overall health and well-being.

"Energy is the root of the body and mind. By understanding and mastering energy, you can unlock the secret to changing yourself and the world," writes Ilchi Lee. "When a chakra changes, energy changes. When energy changes, personal transformation is achieved." When all seven chakras are active and functioning optimally, we live a life of physical, mental and spiritual balance.

The book is based on Lee's popular Healing Chakras training tour, which has been attended by some 30,000 people worldwide. It combines a deep underlying spiritual philosophy derived from ancient Korean wisdom with a systematic chakra therapy regimen designed to activate, cleanse, balance, and strengthen all seven chakras. It includes a 45-minute meditation and integrated body-mind training CD.

"I am truly honored to have my work recognized by such prestigious groups as the Nautilus Book Awards and the Arizona Book Publishing Association," said Ichi Lee. "For more than 30 years, I have dedicated my life to creating works that can help people live healthier, happier and more peaceful lives. I am humbled by these esteemed awards."

The Arizona Book Awards help to promote and support quality work created by Arizona authors, produced by Arizona publishers, or written about Arizona, and to recognize excellence in craft and creation in the Arizona book industry. Books are judged in 33 subject categories and three design categories, and one Embodying Arizona Award is given for the best book that meets all three of the above categories. The Glyph Award is representative of the earliest written symbols.

In addition to the Arizona Glyph Award for Best Interior Layout/Design, Healing Chakras was also a finalist in the Psychology/Self-Help and Health/Wellness/Nutrition categories. In 2009, Lee received an Arizona Glyph Award for two of his other books: Brain Wave Vibration in the Psychology/Self-Help category and In Full Bloom in the Health Wellness/Nutrition category. "Sedona, Arizona has been a constant inspiration for my recent books and I am very grateful to the city for that," said Lee.

The 2010 Nautilus Book Awards recognize books and audio books of exceptional merit that make a literary and heartfelt contribution to spiritual growth, conscious living and positive social change. The Silver and Gold winners are carefully selected in a three-tier judging process by an experienced team of book reviewers, librarians, authors, editors, bookstore owners, and leaders in the publishing industry. Previous winners include such distinguished writers and teachers as Deepak Chopra, Thich Nhat Hanh, Barbara Kingsolver, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Joel Olsteen, Caroline Myss, and Marianne Williamson.

Ilchi Lee has authored 32 books on topics related to brain development, health and wellness, spirituality, and personal growth. His work now joins the ranks of some of the most celebrated authors of our time.
