With his extremely radical products and perfect market timing, the company grew from a small dietary supplement business grossing 2 million a year to a low carbohydrate food and beverage company grossing over 40 million in 2003.

Now Maletto is doing his own thing, in his own state of the art laboratory, creating innovative foods and beverages for hundreds of clients with his own company, PTM Food Consulting. Since its inception, the company has put over 85 of its formulations in supermarkets and convenience stores worldwide. They have been the best-kept secret in the industry and Pete Maletto has continued to innovate for his clients, utilizing his dietary supplement experience in functional foods and beverages.

What has been the secret to the company's success, Maletto said creating a distinct point of difference in the formulation for his clients. "We really work closely with our clients and with a very high degree of confidentiality, from product ideation to final prototypes. Since we have over 20 years experience in the food, beverage and natural industries it really pays off for them. Maletto said the other critical area is that they try not to be all things to all people. "We are focused strictly on science and innovative development, we don't market, we don't distribute, and we don't have other businesses in house. Its just like any business really, to be tops in your trade you need to be centered and engaged in your specialty, and that's how we can continue to be responsive to our clients needs. You don't see pilots building airplanes," Maletto said.

While energy drinks, sports drinks, dairy beverages, and all natural have been a specialty for PTM Food Consulting, their Tetra Pak aseptic beverage development has continued to be a rousing success for their clients. "Aseptic beverage development such as Tetra Pak is the pinnacle of food science, it is the most challenging and the most complex form of beverage development. We are the only beverage development firm in the US we know of that has the knowledge in formulating these kinds of low acid aseptic products. It is also slowly becoming the most dominant form of beverage packaging because of the ability to avoid preservatives and harsh processing methods in the final product."
