If the bunker has a tall lip then your carry through needs to finish much higher than when the player is in a bunker with a more shallow lip. If the sand is very fluffy and thick it will be best to open the face a little and use the bounce of the club to slide under the ball with a carry through out in front, rather then finishing low and left of the body. If it is hard pan sand make sure the hands lead through the shot so the leading edge will dig into the sand just behind the ball with a carry through out in front of the body.
Shots from the Rough
First look at the whole situation when the ball is in the rough. Do not rush into the shot without having the specific spot on the green that the ball needs to land. Most importantly the golfer wants to watch the club face make contact with the ball. Looking up too fast is what causes chunking and hitting shots too thin and way off line. The golfer wants to just feel the distance necessary with your swing.
