Capital Space Demonstrates Commitment to Energy Efficiency by Installing 600 Solar Panels at Churchill Square Business Centre
Kent, United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 12 May 2014 -- Capital Space has installed 600 panels on the roofs of their Churchill Square Business Centre in Kings Hill, Kent, with the help of SunGift Energy. The installation is expected to generate at least 131,055kWh of electricity per year or 28% of the centre’s electricity consumption.
“Sustainability is important to us and to our customers. Capital Space is always looking for ways to improve our ‘Green’ credentials and our latest addition to Churchill Square Business Centre does just that. Working closely with SunGift Energy, we have now successfully installed 5 x 30kWp systems. The installation comprises an impressive 600 panels and is expected to generate about 28% of the Centres electricity consumption,” says Michelle Jones, Project Manager at Capital Space.
The panels are fitted with the latest technologies, which includes the ability to generate electricity even on an overcast day.
“This should enable us to supply the Centre with an element of ‘green’ electricity every day of the year,” Jones explains.
Whilst the systems have only been in place for a few weeks, the environmental benefits are already proving impressive, producing over 14,345 kWh of electricity to date and reducing CO2 emissions by 6,320kg. This is the equivalent of planting 21 trees, and lighting 48,858 light bulbs for 1 day. (1)
Capital Space worked on the initiative with SunGift Energy, award-winning designers and installers of bespoke renewable energy systems for both commercial and residential customers.
“Their reputation within the market and complete professionalism throughout the project has been outstanding,” says Jones.
This latest installation builds on Capital Space’s previous projects to increase energy efficiency at their business centre in South Croydon in 2012.
