Career Step Gives Recent High School Graduate ‘Allergic to All Food’ a Scholarship
Provo, UT (PRWEB) September 16, 2015 -- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and corporate training, has recently awarded Alex Visker, a 19-year-old high school graduate unable to eat any foods due to severe food allergies, a scholarship to enroll in the Career Step Computer Technician training program.
While Visker is not allergic to all foods, he reacts negatively to all foods. He also has a low tolerance to many common environmental factors. In the event of a reaction, he experiences hives, bone and muscle pain, brain fog, constant nausea and extreme fatigue. Despite these challenges, Visker aims to take college courses online to become a computer programmer so he can work from home and keep his health under control. To help Visker achieve his educational and career goals, Career Step has awarded Visker a scholarship for its Computer Technician online training program.

The Computer Technician training program Visker has enrolled in with Career Step will prepare him for CompTIA A+ certification, a computer technician industry credential that will provide a solid foundation for his career in technology while also enabling him to earn the money he needs for college. On average, computer technicians with CompTIA A+ certification earn $51,000 annually, which will help Visker efficiently save for college while managing his illness.
