Come to Charleston and experience the 61st annual Festival of Houses & Gardens. Explore the gardens and homes that showcase decades of Charleston's accomplishments as a national leader in preservation, March 19th - April 18th, 2009

Historic Charleston, SC's 61st annual Festival of Houses & Gardens allows attendees to look beyond the wrought iron gates and garden walls into resplendent interiors and courtyards.

The Southeast Tourism Society has rated The Festival of Houses and Gardens as one of the Top 20 events. This event offers an entire month of tours and activities. The tours will uncover the Glorious Gardens, the Gardens of the French Quarter and Historical Charleston. The festival tours will showcase eight to ten American Colonial period properties per tour. Discover the ambiance of 11 colonial and antebellum neighborhoods dating from the American Colonial period.

Special events include wine tasting, period musical concerts, harbor cruises and luncheon lectures on a variety of historical gardening and decorating topics. Tickets may be secured through the Historic Charleston Foundation and range in price from $20 to $45 per tour. Children 6 - 12 years old are $10.
