The Chicago personal injury lawyers of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. announced that the firm will serve as sponsors of the Fifth Annual Sylvia Krawiec Memorial Golf Outing in Prairie Grove, Illinois, on August 26.
The annual golf tournament is a fundraising benefit for the Sylvia Krawiec Memorial Nursing Scholarship at Harper College. It will be held at the Prairie Isle Golf Club in Prairie Grove.
Sylvia Krawiec was 25 years old and about to graduate with a nursing degree from Rockford College in October 2007 when she was killed in a car accident caused by a driver who had been drinking.
Attorneys Patrick Salvi II and Sarah Ferrill of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. secured a $1.275 million verdict on behalf of her estate in August 2011 (Case No. 08 LA 47, McHenry County Circuit Court).
The Sylvia Krawiec Memorial Fund is a 501 (c)(3) non-for-profit organization that provides financial assistance to college nursing students through yearly scholarships. In 2011, the foundation raised $8,181. The annual golf tournament is the organization’s primary fundraiser.
