Clubs for the Quest™ Combines Physical Fitness and Philanthropy to End ALS
San Clemente, CA (PRWEB) February 25, 2015 -- Today, Augie’s Quest announced that global and national health and fitness brands will participate in its ninth annual Clubs for the Quest™ fundraising campaign. Throughout the year, participating organizations will host events and activities to increase awareness of ALS and raise funds for ALS research being conducted at the ALS Therapy Development Institute, the world’s first and largest nonprofit biotech focused 100 percent on ALS research, with the goal of finding effective treatments and a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
“Clubs for the Quest™ is both simple and powerful! Hosting an event at your club has the ability to strengthen the relationships of staff-members, and members-members. This program can raise much needed funds to help find a cure for ALS / Lou Gehrig’s disease,” says Pat Laus, CEO of The Atlantic Club and Clubs for the Quest™ founder.
Clubs for the Quest™ has raised more than $4.6 million for ALS research since 2006 with the help of its health and fitness brand partners, including Bally Total Fitness, Bay Club Company, Crunch Fitness, LA Fitness, Newtown Athletic Club, Zumba, and others.
“Just like the Ice Bucket Challenge, where millions participated in a single event and raised funds for ALS research, the health and fitness partners which make up Clubs for the Quest™ give people access to local events where they can contribute to meaningful research to end ALS,” says Steve Perrin, Ph.D., CEO and CSO of the ALS Therapy Development Institute. “Every dollar raised through Clubs for the Quest will help fund crucial research projects at the Institute, such as our precision medicine program, which empowers people living with ALS to participate in the quest for a cure.”
