Cohen Veterans Network Fulfills Promise to Military Families and Vows to Open Next Five Clinics
Stamford, CT (PRWEB) November 10, 2016 -- The Cohen Veterans Network (“CVN”) is keeping its promise to veterans and their families across the country. Having seen almost a thousand clients this year, the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics are treating the entire military family with a variety of mental health issues. The network will now establish five additional locations in the first half of next year.
Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics will open in areas of great need in 2017 in El Paso, Texas, Fayetteville, N.C., Washington, D.C., and a pair of clinics in Colorado: Denver and Colorado Springs. In addition to large post-9/11 veterans’ populations, these cities were selected due to significant unmet demand for mental health services, and strong community partners.

CVN wants all veterans and their families to know that we expanding our footprint and are here for them, regardless of the types of mental health challenges they are facing. CVN clinics have seen more than 950 clients this year, most coming in the last six months. The last two pilot clinics just formally opened in October, with two more having opened in early summer.
The clinics are reporting that more than 35% of the total client population are non-veteran family members and children. CVN clinics are treating veterans with all discharge statuses, within one week of first contact, at no cost. Significantly, the clinics are seeing clients that haven’t been able to get help in the past including: clients who have had bad experiences with mental health care previously, clients who have never tried therapy, veterans in crisis, couples, active duty dependents, student veterans, and caregivers.
“I had been to four clinics before with no success. At this clinic when I came in for treatment, everything was based on my actual needs. The level of care has been molded around my experiences in the Coast Guard and my willingness to want to better myself. They are helping greatly with my PTSD and Anxiety issues,” said Josh S., CVN client in San Antonio.
Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics at USC in Los Angeles and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia opened in October. A pair of Texas clinics opened six months ago, in Dallas and San Antonio. A clinic at NYU in New York has been operating for more than three years.
The network formally launched in April 2016 behind a $275M commitment from Cohen to open 25 clinics across the country.
