Creditnet's new credit card search tool matches consumers with the best credit card based on an estimation of personal spending habits and credit history.

Creditnet.com, an online authority on credit card offers and credit repair, today unveiled a new credit card search tool that matches consumers with the best credit card for them based on an estimation of personal spending habits and credit history.
"The new search tool is far more interactive, and accounts for a user's basic personal spending habits when determining which card is the right fit," said Jason Bushey, Creditnet's Vice President of Operations. "With so many credit cards available today, it's that much more important to consider a consumer's basic spending practices, which is exactly what we're doing with this new tool."
Creditnet stresses that its new calculations are for illustrative and comparative purposes only, and are in no way endorsed by any credit card companies or issuers.
Here's how it works:
Once users log on to the site, consumers will be asked what type of credit card user they most identify with - an individual, a business owner or a student. Creditnet will then ask what their credit score is (provided with score ranges for those who are unsure) and whether or not a balance is carried.
Consumers will then enter data into three simple fields; the total existing balance carried, how much they make in credit card purchases each month and the APR of the current card carried.
Creditnet then calculates a general estimation of how much each relevant card can save a consumer on interest fees, plus adds up approximate reward points and bonus points. Again, these calculations are estimates only, but they give consumers an idea of the benefits afforded by each card.
From there, Creditnet's search tool allows consumers to narrow the search even further - by interest rate, rewards and even issuer - so that in the end the card(s) on the screen are custom fit to the wants and needs of a consumer.
