Cycle EastLake & Run Offers Family Fun and Fitness Day for Cyclists, Runners and Walkers on Saturday, April 26, 2014
Chula Vista, CA (PRWEB) April 08, 2014 -- Cyclists, runners and walkers of all abilities from around Southern California are invited to register for the Cycle EastLake & Run event on Saturday, April 26, 2014 in Chula Vista, Calif.
Cyclists can choose to ride in the 100K Cycle, 25-mile Cycle and 18-mile Mountain Bike and Poker Ride. Runners and walkers can take to the streets and trails in the EastLake Half Marathon, 10k Run and 4-mile Family Roll n Stroll (open to jog strollers and dogs on leashes).
Registration is open online through April 23. Participants can also register on race day, beginning at 5:15 a.m. Race day registration and all event activities will be located at Otay Ranch Town Center, 2015 Birch Road, Chula Vista, 91914. Entry fees range from $35 to $55.
Participants and spectators alike will enjoy the YMCA Healthy Kids & City of Chula Vista Go Green and Clean Family Expo, featuring free children’s activities from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
People interested in volunteering can email event organizers by visiting the official race website. Community service verification letters will be available if needed. All volunteers receive a colorful event T-shirt.
Proceeds from Cycle EastLake and Run benefit the EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds to support technology enhancements for the EastLake community schools. This past school year the EEF gave $150,000 to the local public schools.
