Agents from some of the largest real estate markets in the U.S were interviewed and asked to discuss local market conditions and builder competition. All signs are pointing to a buyer's market and an excellent opportunity to cash in on some outstanding home discounts as Dallas Home Builders pile on the incentives.

Channel 8 News in Dallas, Texas recently aired a report on the Dallas Real Estate New Home Construction Market confirming the current buyer's market trend. Builders are offering discounts up to $50,000 in some cases to move new home inventory. Other builders including new urban home, condo, townhome, and loft construction are offering discounts totaling 10-20% off home sales price, free swimming pools, free upgrades, and rebates in order to capture the home buyer's attention. Pre Owned Home Sales are also suffering and owners are slashing prices in order to compete with new home builders.

In an interview discussing new home incentives with Channel 8 News Reporter Cynthia Vega, Dallas Real Estate Broker Kenneth Cox offers advice to home buyers when negotiating with new home builders. "What they are offering is not always what you can get." "Find a Realtor and negotiate the best deal on your new home." When asked what factors influenced the current buyer trend in Dallas, Mr. Cox replied, "An increase in builder inventory and competition in Dallas, combined with an increase in foreclosures and the Variable Rate and Subprime Mortgage Crisis, is allowing home buyers to take advantage of a unique opportunity and negotiate additional incentives on new homes that were already discounted and priced to sell." Investigations have unveiled some serious issues in the mortgage industry that will more than likely get worse before recovering.
