DataChambers and NC Research Campus Announce General Contractor for New Regional Data Center
Kannapolis, NC (PRWEB) June 05, 2014 -- DataChambers, a North Carolina information technology company, and Castle & Cooke, Inc., the developer of the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) in Kannapolis, today announced that Clancy & Theys Construction Company has been selected as General Contractor for the company’s new 50,000-square-foot data center at the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis, N.C.

is among the top U.S. builders of office buildings, warehouse and distribution projects and specialties, including research and development facilities. Clancy & Theys has also become a technology leader, using Building Information Modeling (BIM) and computer tablets for field communication and planning.

To meet the rigorous standards of DataChambers and its clients, the new center will be built to withstand hurricane-force winds and will feature state-of-the-art systems for power, security, HVAC and network connectivity. Officials at the NCRC say the facility will strengthen the campus technology infrastructure and provide a critical Charlotte-area resource.
DataChambers currently operates data centers in Winston-Salem and Raleigh. The facility at NCRC is scheduled to be completed by late-2014 and will be staffed by 20 to 30 IT professionals around the clock. DataChambers plans to host client systems at the new facility and offers a variety of outsourced information technology services, including IaaS, colocation, hosting and business recovery services.
