Disabled Veterans National Foundation Announces New Grant Recipients for Fall 2015 Session
Washington, DC (PRWEB) September 17, 2015 -- The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) (http://www.dvnf.org) announced today that it has selected 20 organizations to receive grant funding that will enhance their current programs or to launch new initiatives that will expand services for disabled and at-risk veterans.
The total funding given to the organizations in this round of grants was nearly $420,000. DVNF’s last round of grants were given to 13 organizations for nearly a quarter-million dollars.
DVNF is a national nonprofit veteran service organization that provides critically needed support to disabled and at-risk veterans. The grants were awarded as part of DVNF’s Organizational Grant program, in which organizations apply for funding for services they provide to veterans who are facing physical or mental disability, financial hardship, or other challenges. Grants are awarded on a very competitive basis after careful evaluation of an organization’s application as well as a site visit by DVNF program staff.
“Each organization we fund is chosen because of the positive impact they make on the lives of veterans,” said DVNF CEO, Joseph VanFonda (USMC SgtMaj Ret.). “Each dollar they receive is given with utmost faith and confidence that they will make a veteran’s life easier, and will help them overcome the many hurdles they face after the military.
