Dr. Tiffany Carr Releases New Book Aimed at Teacher Resiliency Amid Widespread Teacher Strikes
MOUNT VERNON, Iowa (PRWEB) May 15, 2018 -- During a time of tension and stress for teachers around the country, Dr. Tiffany Carr has released a book aimed at teacher resiliency strategies. Joy in Teaching: A Research-Based Framework of Action for Educators is full of resources to build resilience, fight burnout, and reclaim the joy – with actionable ideas and strategies throughout, including:
- A self-inventory for educators to reflect on
- Research into teacher well-being
- The teacher burnout scale for accurate assessment
- Resilience strategies
- Building community and culture
“After teaching for 16 years, watching countless teachers pour their hearts and souls into their careers, only to later become stressed, begin to question their purpose and burn out – some even leaving the profession altogether, I knew I had to do something about it,” said Dr. Tiffany Carr. “And so Joy in Teaching was born.”
Dr. Carr has also written a companion workbook, geared toward professional development and book studies, which follows the book chapter-for-chapter, extends discussions, and provides exclusive activities and thoughtful reflections beyond the discussion prompts contained within Joy in Teaching.
Connecting Teachers Around the World
Dr. Carr began working towards teacher resilience through the eponymous website Joy in Teaching (located at https://www.joyinteaching.com), as well as companion groups on social media. She provides articles on a variety of resilience-based matters, from test prep to classroom design to work-and-life balance. Dr. Carr also offers a variety of speaking, professional learning and consulting services.
