Belmont, CA (PRWEB) February 26, 2014 -- BlogHer, Inc., the premium cross-platform media network and publisher for women, today announced that Kerry Washington will be a keynote speaker at the 10th Annual BlogHer Conference, which takes place July 24-26, 2014 in San Jose, CA and is the largest event for bloggers and social media influencers in the nation.

Kerry Washington has received acclaim for her roles on the big and small screen and currently stars as Olivia Pope in the hit ABC drama “Scandal.” Washington is blazing trails as the first African-American woman to headline a network TV show in decades, and has thus far garnered an Emmy nomination, Golden Globe nomination, and two NAACP Image Awards for her work on the show.

Washington also is an activist. A recipient of the NAACP President’s Award recognizing special achievement in furthering the cause of civil rights and public service, Washington was appointed to the President’s Committee of the Arts and Humanities in 2009.
