Equipaws Pet Services Launches First Aid & Care Classes for Pets in Miami
Miami, FL (PRWEB) June 18, 2014 -- Beginning this June Equipaws Pet Services will offer Pet Tech's acclaimed pet first aid and care classes for pet owners, “PetSaver™ and First Aid & Care For Your Pets™.”
The first workshop, First Aid & Care For Your Pets™, will take place on Saturday June 21 at 9:00 am at Applause Your Paws, a dog training company, located at 4423 SW 74 Ave, Miami, FL 33155. The class is 5 hours and will cover topics including CPR, rescue breathing, shock management, bleeding, injury assessment, heat injuries, and cold injuries. The fee for the course is $99 per person.
According to the American Animal Hospital Association, 1 out of 4 pets could be saved if just one pet first aid technique is used before transporting the animal to the veterinarian.
“Our pets, just like children, are at greater risk of death or injury from preventable accidents than any other reason. Taking the correct and proper actions can significantly increase the chances of survival and reduce the extent of injury to your pet, before transporting them to your veterinarian,” says Flavia Berti, owner of Equipaws Pet Services.
The course will be taught by Franca Berti, Equipaws Pet Services’ pet sitter and social media manager, who is a Pet Tech instructor and certified to teach the class. Franca already trains each Equipaws pet sitters and dog walkers in pet CPR and first aid.
“Pet Tech's life-saving techniques give our clients peace of mind and prepare our employees to care for our clients' pets in emergency situations,” adds Franca. “I am genuinely excited to pass this knowledge on to pet owners in our community.”
Equipaws also plans to lead an 8-hour PetSaver course in the near future, although a specific class date has not yet been released. The PetSaver class includes the skills and information necessary to prepare the pet owner in the unfortunate event of a medical emergency involving their pet, and covers the above as well as dental care, senior care, and more.
