Advances in laser cataract surgery, glaucoma management, corneal diseases and surgical treatment for eyelid disorders will be shared by eye surgeons of North Shore Eye Care at their 7th Semi-Annual Continuing Education Symposium for Optometrists, according to leading eye surgeon, Jeffrey Martin, MD, medical director at North Shore Eye Care and emcee/lecturer of this annual continuing education program.
Held at the Hyatt Regency Long Island on Sunday, June 1st, this year’s optometric symposium will provide attending primary eye care doctors the opportunity to learn the latest breakthroughs in surgical, tertiary and medical eye care for the most common eye diseases and condition. Since its inception, this joint meeting between the optometric community and leaders in ophthalmology has grown to become one of the premier medical educational events held on Long Island.
In addition to eye surgeons Jeffrey Martin, MD; Faye Knoll, MD; and John Mauro, DO, other featured guest speakers include Lawrence Buono, MD; Samuel Baharestani, MD; and Andrew Bainnson, MD. “Our line-up of surgeons is outstanding this year,” said Dr. Martin. “Our attending optometrists will have the opportunity to receive continuing education credit in the areas of Normal Tension Glaucoma, Eyelid and Brow Ptosis, Non-Arteritic Ischemic Optic Neuropathy, Anterior Segment Disease, Laser Cataract Surgery and Corneal Emergencies.”
