Fitness Data and Action in One App; Fitnet Releases First-of-its-Kind Calorie Tracker
San Francisco (PRWEB) September 22, 2015 -- Fitnet, the award-winning fitness app consisting of five to seven minute workouts and biometric sensors to track clients’ performance in real time, announced the launch of Fitnet 4 today. The latest version of the comprehensive fitness solution is taking giant steps forward by integrating other Apple Health enabled apps’ data into Fitnet 4 through its Energy Clock, a first-of-its-kind comprehensive view of calorie burn. Handpicked by Apple on watchOS 2 launch day as a 'Great Apps & Games for watchOS 2', Fitnet allows the user to view calorie burn on the watch face and turn the crown to see a predicted value into the future that is available only on Fitnet’s latest release on Apple Watch.
For example, the app will aggregate data from a client’s runs from the Nike+ Running app and sleep from a preferred sleep-tracking app. The Fitnet Energy Clock, available exclusively for iOS 9 iPhone and WatchOS 2 Apple Watch users, will accurately display a clients’ past 24 hours of caloric burn through color-coded intervals - blue is sleep, green is rest and orange is active. The app will then apply an algorithm that will display predictive calorie burn based on your previous activity. This new, data-rich version is made possible through Apple’s latest releases, and allows clients to see the burn as much as they feel it.
“With new headquarters in San Francisco and the release of our fourth iteration of the app, Fitnet is experiencing significant momentum that will help to enhance our product and empower our clients to reach their personal health and fitness goals,” said Bob Summers, founder and chief geek of Fitnet. “From strengthening our partnerships with other health and wellness organizations to tracking accurate caloric burn to monitoring overall health patterns, we are changing the way fitness applications utilize the data we’ve gained through Apple Health and amalgamating it into one very powerful tool.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, caloric burn is fundamental to both weight loss efforts as well as an overall healthy lifestyle. In order to accurately track a client’s health with Energy Clock, Fitnet uses a combination of benchmarked user data, over a dozen biometric data points such as heart rate and body fat composition and couples it with input from thousands of Apple Health enabled and Apple Watch fitness apps to provide a comprehensive 24-hour view of calorie burn.
“Daily monitoring of your sleep patters, active time and calorie burn has been proven time and again to assist clients in reaching their fitness goals,” said Fitnet Fitness Director, Laurie Maddox. “It not only gives you a perspective on your lifestyle that you’ve never had before, but also gamifies the experience through tracking and achieving daily goals.”
The convenient and comprehensive mobile fitness experience is accessible, easy-to-use and fun for all ages and skill levels. Fitnet has over 250 free strength training, cardio and yoga workouts and is available for download on iTunes, the Apple Watch app store and Google Play.
