Florida Hospital Tampa Invites Women to Explore a Life Free from Muscle and Joint Pain as Part of the Passport to Health Women’s Seminar Series
Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) April 10, 2014 -- Florida Hospital Tampa is inviting women on a journey to Greece to explore a life free from muscle and joint pain as part of the Passport to Health women’s seminar series. The event is free to the public and will take place on Tuesday, April 15th, at the Tampa Palms Country Club from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The four-part series began in February with a trip to Spain and focused on heart health. Now the passport series travels to Greece and will feature Dr. Eddy Echols, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Florida Orthopaedic Institute.
Musculoskeletal pain of the bone, joint and muscles is one of the most common reasons for primary care visits in the United States, according to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). Chronic pain that persists beyond an expected period of healing is estimated to affect 100 million Americans. Lower back pain affects up to 80 percent of Americans at some point in life and consistently ranks among the top five most common reasons for all healthcare visits in the US, according to the AAOS. Dr. Echols will be presenting current information on common orthopedic issues that women suffer from including shoulder injuries, stress fractures and kneecap pain as well as how to begin the journey toward the road to relief. Following the physician seminar, guests will be invited to join a Greek cuisine cooking demonstration.
