Florida Vein Care Rounds Up, Raising Funds for Local PTSD Veteran
Belle Isle, FL (PRWEB) October 01, 2013 -- The “Round up for the Run” will take place the entire month of October at Florida Vein Care, a center for treating varicose and spider veins and Svelte Medical Weight Loss Center, a center with a three-step program for losing weight. Clients will have an opportunity to “round up” their total bill to the nearest dollar or the nearest even zero dollar and that extra amount will go towards Brian Fay’s fundraising.
In addition to the “Round Up for the Run”, Susie Bragg, co-owner of Florida Vein Care/Svelte Medical Weight Loss Center has also enlisted the help of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, a group of 9 runners from Belle Isle, Florida that are running in the 38th Marine Corp Marathon in Washington, DC on October 27, 2013 in support of the United States military.
“Between the round up and the marathon run in Washington DC, our goal is to raise $12,000 in which 60% of all funds will go directly to Brian Fay and his family. He is a part of our community and we hope that we all can rally for him and his family by donating even just a small amount. With all that he has done for us and our country, it is very little to ask,” said Susie Bragg.
Brian Fay, a Boone High School graduate, is a wounded warrior being treated for the invisible wounds commonly called post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD. Brian Fay did a tour to Iraq and Afghanistan and was in several IED blasts that led to his hospitalization for post concussive syndrome and headaches. Donations to help Brian’s transition back into civilian life are greatly appreciated by Brian, his wife and children.
